WHOLE 9
2007年に結成され、大阪を中心に国内外で活動する2人組アートユニット。ライブペイントや壁画制作を得意とし、具象モチーフを描くhitchと抽象モチーフを描くsimoで構成される。
コンセプト：
Koenji Mural City Project 第四弾は大阪を拠点に活動する2人組アートユニットWHOLE 9によって描かれました。高さ20mの壁面を息のあったコンビネーションであっという間に完成させるスピード感と、2人の異なる描画スタイルを融合させる絶妙なバランス感覚が見事に表現された、日本屈指のMURAL ARTISTによる東京都内最大級サイズの作品です。空を飛ぶワシとその周囲の抽象的なイメージは、高円寺住民の多様性やその中で暮らしや文化を共有している様子からインスピレーションを得ています。
Finding the perfect balance between their two different painting styles, WHOLE9 are able to create large scale murals in an unbelievably quick time. KMCP#4 was finished in just under one week with less than optimum weather and huge scale (20 meter wall). The eagle, with its wings spreading wide soaring into the sky, represents the city of Koenji and its inhabitants spreading their wings and sharing their amazing culture. The surrounding abstract images depict the diversity of the Koenji people and their acceptance of all the quirkiness and unusualness the outside world has to offer.

Koenji Mural City Projectは、2016年10月から高円寺で始動した都市型MURAL(壁画)プロジェクトです。高円寺に暮らすアーティストと地域の人々、商店会町会などを巻き込みながら作品を増やし活動を展開中です。今後私たちは、これらの活動を継続しながら発展させる形でパブリックアートプロダクションを立ち上げます。世界中の人々に対して新しいインスピレーションを公共空間の中に提供していきます。アーティストの制作活動と、今後の壁画プロジェクトへのご支援をいただけましたら大変嬉しく思います。壁画制作のご依頼などございましたら、info@bna-hotel.comまでご連絡ください。
