◉ “About the Fixed Window-Series”
“What kind of world unfolds beyond the window you see?
Occasionally, I think about the scenery you are watching and close my eyes softly.
I'm going to imagine what kind of colors and shapes the world has.
From there, your loneliness, hope, emptiness, happiness, hopelessness...
And while imagining it, I have myself trying to feel your pain.
When someone else's pain seeps through thin skin,
Sometimes I don't know if it's “your pain” or “my pain.”
someone's pain creeps under my skin,
It softly pushes over my skin, slowly penetrates, and when I notice it, my shape loses its outline and becomes hazy.
The scenery I see and the world you see don't intersect no matter how you scratch your feet,
While feeling anxious about it, only a quiet empty space falls and piles up in my heart.
The distorted view reflected in the jammed window blurs all boundaries and continues to show me the same scenery without opening.
I'm alone looking at the world that only I can see through that distorted window.”

Painter/Painter
By using acrylic paint and incorporating mixed colors, accidental expressions, and sensory touches, they are created with an awareness of “paintings that appeal to the senses.” Multiple styles have been developed, such as the “Mind Record” series, which is an attempt to keep fragments of memories flowing through me as they are, the “Object” series, which features rich textures using modeling paste, and the “Fixed Window” series, which depicts windows held by various people under the theme of “human boundaries.” Born in Miyagi. He began presenting as a painter in 2008. Lives and works in Tokyo (currently lives in Tochigi Prefecture). ----- [Statement] When I keep a diary, I write my “feelings” for that day, not the events that happened that day. Therefore, similar words are repeatedly lined up in the diary. “What did you do” and “who were you with” have been omitted, so I will use fragments of words as clues later and move forward little by little with the scenes of the day. It doesn't fulfill its essential role as a diary at all. I write and reread such a “useless diary” in the same way and guess the events of the day. The letters are sometimes strong, sometimes weak, punched, and smudged. Sometimes stars and heart symbols were attached — the feelings that oozed through those lines and shapes slowly made me think back nostalgically. People are multifaceted, and they live with cruelty and compassion, purity and cunning, generosity and narrow-mindedness, and by yardsticks whose scales change. I try to hold on to that beautiful distortion so strongly from time to time, I'm trying to record “traces of the moment” that shake and don't stay. I began drawing by replacing the feelings that seeped into the swaying letters in my diary with the colors, shapes, and matières of the paint. When the colors mix and begin to resonate beautifully, I feel that something that cannot be conveyed in words is gently conveyed. Shimizu Kayoco
