Toshiaki Tashiro

Born in 1980 in Saga.
Graduated from the Saga Prefectural Saga-Kita High School Art Course, Department of Fine Arts,
He dropped out of the private Osaka University of Arts, Faculty of Art, Department of Imaging.

He was the youngest in history to receive the president (prefectural governor's award, Yamaguchi Ryoichi award) in the Western painting section of the Saga Prefecture Exhibition, which was exhibited while attending high school, at the age of 16. After dropping out of college, he began working as a painter in earnest.
Currently, they have an atelier in Nagano Prefecture at the southern foot of Yatsugatake.

In 2003, he was selected by Katsuhiko Hibino and Takashi Murakami to exhibit at “Artist by Artists” at Mori Arts Center (Roppongi Hills).
Selected for the Ueno Royal Museum Grand Prize in 2010.
Selected for Tokyo Wonder Wall in 2011 (exhibited at Tokyo Wonder Seed in 2012).
In the same year, more than 700 original works were purchased over a period of 3 years through the “5,000 yen project,” which began as a result of volunteering for the Great East Japan Earthquake.
In 2014, he was selected as the artist to design all packages for the brand “DOUX' DAMOUR,” which was newly created to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Hiyoko Honpo Yoshinodo.
In 2015, “New Language, New Communication” was announced on the theme of language and the collapse of the Gestalt. The first collection of works “New Language, New Communication (Wooly Arts)” was published.

In 2017, she exhibited as the main artist at the first exhibition “Wooly in Blooklyn” in Brooklyn, New York. In the same year, a solo exhibition “THE VERY END OF DAWN” was held to commemorate the grand opening of Ropponmatsu Tsutaya Bookstore (Fukuoka).

Various concepts and statements are developed at each exhibition.

In 2020, it was announced that she lost her beloved family to suicide, and that her various experiences and feelings associated with it are the creative concept. I raised funds through my first crowdfunding in order to create a collection of works that would be the culmination, and the project was a success.

In 2021, a collection of works “Toshiaki Tashiro Art Works 1995-2020,” which is the culmination of 25 years of life as an artist, was published. Since that time, art workshops have been held that have been uniquely constructed by interpreting from various aspects such as art thinking, counseling, therapy, and healing. Currently, there are over 300 participants, and one-on-one online work sessions are also being held.

In 2022, the artwork “Introspection” with the theme of “interior view” was presented.
At the same time, he announced his first NFT work “moje” on the NFT marketplace “Adam by GMO.”
A large-scale exhibition will be held at GINZA SIX FOAM CONTEMPORARY in Ginza, Tokyo. NAGANO CELLA MASUMI,
Traveling exhibitions were held at Tokyo LONGY GALLERY, Hakata Hankyu Department Store, etc., and attracted approximately 2,000 people.
