Moe Nakase

Born in 1993

Moe Nakase was born and raised in the foothills of Fujino-cho, Kanagawa Prefecture. Having always lived side by side with nature since her childhood, she has been greatly influenced by her relationship with nature.

She creates her paintings as if to lock in memories of the sights, smells, and feelings she has experienced while in contact with nature.

Using beeswax, a natural pigment used since ancient times, she began experimenting with the self-taught encaustic technique of mixing pigments with molten beeswax, and is currently developing it into her own method while showing her works in Japan and abroad.
