Maiko HAYASHI
Ceramic artist
Presented mainly three-dimensional modeling using pottery. I think about the obsession with ceramic surfaces and interest in the symbolism of animals as the axis of production.
1987 Born in Gunma, Japan
2012 Master of Fine Arts in Ceramic, Tama Art University, Tokyo
A ceramic artist who captures animal figures created by humans, starting with myths and stories, as symbols reflecting the human mind, and expresses them using unique ceramic techniques. Animals with fictitious shapes harbor deep shadows in their gaze, and the characteristic delicate patterns and colors that appear by scraping the surface are superimposed on various images in the work. These expressions evoke scenes and memories that each person confronts has.
