Painter Yoichiro Masuda created abstract paintings that compare the flow of water and the sparkle on the surface of the water to the way the world is, starting with the production of the work “Water -impression-,” which was inspired by the Kamogawa River in Kyoto. The river is always there, even when the people and buildings around it change, but it is constantly changing as it flows. It's the same river, and the contents are not the same. I'm interested in the passage of time and things that seem to be unchanged and continue to change, and things that keep changing but don't seem to change.
Born in 1981. Graduated from Musashino Art University, Faculty of Art and Design, Department of Oil Painting in 2005. I have handled many domestic and international commission works such as Palace Hotel Tokyo, Four Seasons Beijing, Mandarin Oriental Pudong Shanghai, Fairmont Jakarta, and LYF Shibuya.
