東京大学工学部建築学科卒業後、2000年に藤本壮介建築設計事務所を設立。
Born in 1971.
He started Sou Fujimoto Architects in 2000, soon after his graduation from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Tokyo with a degree in architecture.

Biography
主な作品に「武蔵野美術大学美術館・図書館」、ロンドンの「サーペンタイン・ギャラリー・パビリオン2013」、フランス・モンペリエの「L’Arbre Blanc」、「白井屋ホテル」、「マルホンまきあーとテラス」など。2014年フランス・モンペリエ国際設計競技最優秀賞、2015年パリ・サクレー・エコール・ポリテクニーク・ラーニングセンター国際設計競技最優秀賞に次ぎ、2016年Reinventer.paris国際設計競技ポルトマイヨ・パーシング地区最優秀賞を受賞。2025年日本国際博覧会（大阪・関西万博）の会場デザインプロデューサーを務める。
His representative works are Musashino Art University Museum & Library, Serpentine Gallery Pavilion 2013 in London, L’Arbre Blanc in Montpellier, France, SHIROIYA HOTEL, and MARUHON makiart terrace. He was selected as a winner of several international competitions; the Ecole Polytechnique Learning Centre in Paris in 2015, and the Reinventing Paris project in Pershing/Porte Maillot in 2016. He is the Expo site design producer for the 2025 Japan International Exposition (Osaka/Kansai Expo).
