門馬　美喜

私は古くから東アジアおよび日本で使われている技法「水墨画」で、現代アートの世界で発表し続けています。墨、水、和紙のみを用い、モノクロのみで表現した世界を、見る側の想像力を持って色彩を感じさせる事に可能性を見出し、幼少の頃から水墨画を描き続けてきました。

現代日本では美術館等では有名な水墨画作品は人気であるものの、描く人口は少なく、私は現代アートの領域で活動する事を決意し、日本の美術大学では現代アートを作る学科で学び、その後日本にはない伝統的な技法を学ぶために中国の美術大学へ留学し広く学んできました。

また社会問題により注目されず消えていく少数派の歴史や文化の地を積極的に記録し、現代アートとして出来る事を常に考え、多くの場で発表してきました。

そのため、東日本大震災以降2020年3月まで線路が途切れていた福島県相馬市と東京を往復する風景、そして馬を描いてます。

各地の伝統文化が縮小していく中、自分のルーツを深く探ることで、世界各地に埋もれている文化を新しく発見し、その地に伝わる伝統や、遠く離れた地に共通する文化に敬意を持ち、少しでも多くの人々に新しい表現へ展開していくために国内外に通用する現代アートを制作していきます。

I have been producing my works with ink-wash painting, a traditional technique in East Asia and Japan.

By discovering the potential of leading the viewer’s imagination to feel colors in a world conjured up by mere ink, water, and paper, I have produced ink-wash paintings since my childhood.

Although classical ink-wash paintings are popular, not many artists are producing ink-wash paintings today. I decided to work in the field of contemporary art, which I majored in during my university experience in Japan. I continued my study after graduation, having studied in art universities in China.

I also recorded the history and culture of ethnic and cultural minorities, seeking the possibilities of expressing them through contemporary art, as well as exhibiting these works on numerous occasions.

Therefore　I painting horse and the reality seen from the everyday view point of people living Soma City Fukushima Prefecture.

Despite the many hardships that traditional cultures are currently suffering, I am determined to continue producing contemporary artworks that communicate deeper pursuance of my own roots and respect to diverse culture and tradition, sublimating them into new expression.
