This year's theme for the “Forest Exhibition Room,” which is held every year in the mountains of Kyoto, was “cover.”

I started to create a work that meant connecting and supplementing forests and people.

Among the foils, I chose pale silver aluminum foil, cut 300 sheets on Sekishu paper into 2 cm wide strips so that they sparkle and reflect more due to refraction of light, woven vertically and horizontally, and brought to the forest.

Walk through the woods and wander around looking for places that match the theme.

Among them, I found an area where felled stumps that were glittering and illuminated by the sun were covered with moss.

It starts moving in an experiment to further supplement the light with reflected light from aluminum foil here.

There are various colors in nature, including living things, from those close to fluorescent colors to neutral colors called earth colors. However, it is a name given by humans as an afterthought, and there are probably an infinite number of colors that have not been reproduced by humans.

Along with color, there is quality, smell, and sound.

The aluminum that shines pure white reflects the sun, blue sky, and sunset, making the place stand out.

In a landscape where the strong and vivid colors of camellia flowers and leaves in the natural world interweave with the sparkling white of the metal “? (sense of incongruity)” and “! I created it because I wanted people to hold “(Discovery)”.

This time, too, I was thankful and happy for this time in the woods to test my thoughts.
