"Dawn" signifies the break of day, but it also signifies the beginning of something new. This work was created from the inside out. The act of creating it was like groping in the dark — an adventure akin to pushing aside the grass before our eyes to forge ahead. We do not know what lies ahead. To forge ahead into the future is, in itself, an act of creation and a dawn.

Sculptor
Born in 1984 in Okayama, Japan. Tadahiko Emura is a sculptor whose practice-based research explores the possibilities of sculptural expression arising from, and shaped by, existence, with a particular focus on sculptural methods and processes. He holds an M.Ed. from Okayama University and a Ph.D. in Art from the University of Tsukuba. In addition to presenting his work extensively in Japan and internationally, he is involved in projects and educational programs exploring tactile expression and haptic modes of art appreciation. He is the founder and director of Tadakura, a member of the Sculpture Division of the Shinseisaku Art Society, and a specially appointed researcher at Tama Art University.EMURA TADAHIKO SCULPTURES https://emuratadahiko.com
