As a painter, Matsuo has been creating paintings since 2018 using extremely small painted pieces that have a unique texture, and arranges them, just a few centimeters in size, into space. By placing the miniature paintings in space, each small screen affects the movement of sight and eyeballs. Something that sticks to the wall like dust changes your line of sight, or makes you stop and stare. Focusing on such sensations, Matsuo creates works based on moments of sensual strangeness where one suddenly feels fetish and materiality in the clutter of everyday life.
