“These paintings explore the idea of accelerationism—how things can feel when change happens too quickly. Art Tavera (b. 1988) is an artist born in Indonesia whose practice draws from the immediacy of graffiti and the depth of abstract painting, where gesture, layering, and shifting states come together in a balance between structure and improvisation. His works unfold through raw strokes that take shape as compositions which remain unsettled, conveying movement, friction, and the impermanence of form.
