Location: 10 Sumiyoshi-cho, Shinjuku, Tokyo

日本人はその「八の字」の形を見ると、何でも富士山に結び付けてしまう癖がある。古びたコンクリートブロックにいつか噴火すると言われる富士山のその後を想像した。

街の汚れを取材し、街の雰囲気を持った風景画に見立てる「汚れの絵画」シリーズより。

Japanese can not avoid thinking of mt. Fuji when they find any shape with "八(chinese character for 8)". Fuji is said to be erupt sooner or later. I imagined of mt.Fuji after the day, looking old concrete blocks.

「汚れの絵画」シリーズとは・・・

”星座に名前がつけられたように、汚れに名前をつけてみる”

年月をかけて蓄積された染みや汚れは、絵具を塗り重ねたように表情豊かです。 移り変わる街の片隅で、土地の空気をたっぷり吸い込んだ名もなき汚れ達を風景画に見立てた写真作品のシリーズです。

現地の汚れを切り取り、原寸大の写真を額装しています。それぞれの住所にいけば、今もその汚れがひっそりとたたずんでいるはずです。

What is "Painting of dirt and stains"?

Dirt and stains are layered on the wall through long time, like a landscape which painters carefully painted.

I named them "painting of dirt and stains" and started to show them as a photo series.

With your imagination, you can figure out the landscape paintings created by time.
