作品詳情

[RAS Life]

One of the functions of the brain is a function called RAS, which makes humans sensitive to gathering information about things they are interested in.

When you have a positive consciousness with goals and hopes, necessary information relating to curiosity or what you have found value comes in, but when you spend your time vaguely, what you want to avoid or what you don't like gradually becomes clear, and only that information is sifted through and transmitted to the brain.

Inspired by this brain function, words are arranged on this cube-shaped plaster work using acrylic and a cutting sheet. The words “LIFE,” which means life, are arranged alternately at the top, and “SURVIVING,” which means survival, and “THRIVING,” which means prosperity and development, are arranged alternately on all aspects.

Words that are arranged in the same way at first glance always look different depending on how they hit the light and the angle, and it is assumed that words that the brain catches more clearly can change depending on what and how you are aware of on a regular basis.

It is a work that once again asks questions about how to perceive things and how to perceive life, and at the same time symbolizes that the way we look at them can flexibly change depending on consciousness.
