1983　 東京生まれ 2008　 東京藝術大学 大学院 先端芸術表現専攻 修了 　 東京都在住 1983　 Born in Tokyo, Japan 2008　 MFA in Inter Media Art, Tokyo University of the Arts 　 lives and works in Tokyo 「つくる」行為が人間だけに特権的なものではないことに着目し、生物との共同作業のプロセスを作品化してきた。生物との関わりから生まれるもの、あるいはその関係性を提示している。 主な作品に、都市をかたどったヤドカリの殻をつくり実際に引っ越しをさせる「やどかりに『やど』をわたしてみる」、飼犬の毛と作家自身の髪でケープを作ってお互いが着用する「犬の毛を私がまとい、私の髪を犬がまとう」など。 近年の展覧会に、「AKI INOMATA: Significant Otherness 生きものと私が出会うとき」 （十和田市現代美術館、2019）、 「guest room 004 AKI INOMATA 相似の詩学ー異種協働のプロセスとゆらぎ」（北九州市立美術館、2019）、「第22回ミラノ・トリエンナーレ　Broken Nature」（トリエンナーレデザイン美術館、2019） 、「タイビエンナーレ2018」（クラビ市内、タイ、2018）、「Aki Inomata, Why Not Hand Over a “Shelter” to Hermit Crabs ?」（ナント美術館、フランス、2018）など国内外多数。 2017年ACCの招聘でニューヨークに滞在。 AKI INOMATA graduated with an MFA in Inter-media Art from Tokyo University of the Arts in 2008. Focusing on how the act of “making” is not exclusive to mankind, AKI INOMATA develops the process of collaboration with living creatures into artworks. She presents what is born out of her interactions with living creatures as well as the relationship between humans and animals. Her major artworks include Why Not Hand Over a “Shelter” to Hermit Crabs?, in which she created city-like shells for hermit crabs, and I Wear the Dog’s Hair, and the Dog Wears My Hair, in which the artist and her dog wear capes made out of each other’s　respective hair. Her recent exhibitions include “The XXII Triennale di Milano, Broken Nature: Design Takes on Human Survival”, “Thailand Biennale Krabi 2018”, “Aki Inomata, Why Not Hand Over a “Shelter” to Hermit Crabs ?”(Musee de Nantes, France, 2018),“Coming of Age” (Sector 2337, Chicago, 2017), KENPOKU ART 2016, and “Eco Expanded City” (WRO Art Center, Wroclaw, Poland, 2016). She received the Grand Prize at the YouFab Global Creative Awards 2014, the Special Prize at Asian Art Award 2018. In 2017, she stayed in New York on an Individual Fellowship Grant from the Asian Cultural Council.
