「月と太陽」2018年制作 合板・塗料・紙 "Moon and Sun" created 2018 plywood, paint, paper
The cases on the left of the entrance contained part of a circle with a diameter of 12 meters; on the right was another 3cm wide circle you’d almost overlook. The difference in proportion was roughly 400 times the size: the same as our moon and sun. This work started with Tsukiyama wondering how big the work would have to be fit snugly inside these cases; I find it interesting to not be able to see the whole picture when something is either too big or too small.
向かって右側は見落とすほどの直径3cmの円。左側はショーケースに入りきらない直径12mの円の一部。約400倍の差は、月と太陽の直径比です。
大きすぎても小さすぎても立ち位置によっては全容が見えないというおもしろさは、このケース内にしっくりくる作品のサイズはどれくらいだろうかと考えることからスタートし、ある晩、見上げた夜空に浮かぶ月が答え（？）をくれました。

アーティストとしてどうしてもやりたいという衝動に突き動かされて制作し発表してきた作品は、必ずしも販売に直結する訳ではありません。この活動を今後どのように継続させていくのかを常に考えながら制作発表に励んでいます。ArtStickerという新しい試みにもひとまずチャレンジしてみようと思います。
