概述
A famous incident in 1917 New York in which a work entitled “Fountain”, consisting of a urinal signed by the artist, was rejected for exhibition prompted the question - Is this art ?
Even now after nearly 100 years have passed this question is still valid. If he hears this from heaven it would surely make Duchamp roar with laughter. He would say “what ready made people as usual.”
Nonetheless the paradigm shift from ‘visual art’ to ‘thinking art’ has only just begun. We have to keep watching and listening to trends to see what contemporary artists will allow us to see or experience from now.
