POETIC SCAPE

Founded in 2011 in Nakameguro, Tokyo, POETIC SCAPE is a commercial gallery specializing in photography. Guided by the principles of expanding the concept of photography and fostering the development of the photographic art market in Japan, the gallery has pursued a diverse and evolving program. Its exhibitions range from works by emerging and mid-career artists to historically significant figures, reflecting the breadth and depth of photographic expression. In recent years, while remaining grounded in photography, the gallery has also expanded its curatorial scope beyond the medium.

In 2024, POETIC SCAPE established a by-appointment Viewing Room within walking distance of the gallery. Conceived as a place for consultation and consideration prior to acquisition, the Viewing Room allows for a tailored presentation of works based on individual requests. Through discussions that also encompass framing, display, and preservation, POETIC SCAPE seeks to support the process of bringing artworks into collections with a long-term perspective, fostering enduring relationships between collectors and works.
