Work Details

"This is a painting" is a study where I build up paintings through the accumulation of drawing lines and erasing them.

This act, which could be considered the essence of painting, is overlaid through digital drawing and ultimately outputted using analog techniques with acrylic paint on canvas.

The title is inspired by the phrase "This is a pen," which is often one of the first English phrases taught in middle school.

This series was born from a desire to approach painting once again with the mindset of a beginner.
