Overview
Founded in 1995 in Matsumoto, Nagano, Gallery Sekiryu has operated since 2009 with two locations, including a Viewing Room in Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo. The gallery focuses both on the ongoing practices of contemporary artists and on the works left behind by artists who have passed away, organizing exhibitions and building collections around both perspectives.
As a companion to artists and a bridge between artworks and those who encounter them, the gallery approaches works that often require time to be fully appreciated from a long-term perspective, while seeking points of connection between everyday life and art.

About 20 minutes by car from Matsumoto IC of Nagano Expressway2km South-East from the station. Go East, straight along the Main Street (Ekimae-dori.) Passing by the Matsumoto City Museum of Art on your left, turn right on the Kokudō (National Road) 19th (Yamabiko road.) Crossing the Susukigawa river, you can find the gray building on your left about 100m away.

Going in the direction of Roppongi along the Gaien-higashi street, against Akasaka post office, turn right on the coin operated parking, Mitsui-no-repark. Going straight, you can find the building about 80m away on your left (our gallery on the second floor.)
