Overview
WAITINGROOM was founded in the fall of 2010 in Ebisu, Tokyo, and has been based in the Edogawabashi–Kagurazaka area since 2017. The gallery is dedicated to presenting contemporary artists whose practices transcend specific media or formats, engaging with ideas that traverse the boundaries of society, culture, and technology.
We value a wide range of approaches, including works that, rooted in critical themes such as gender, embodiment, memory, and identity, reveal the intersection between personal narratives and social structures; poetic and physical expressions that explore material, space, and sensory perception; and practices that navigate between digital and analog, physical and virtual, to offer new ways of understanding the world.
